Walk softly upon the earth
Leave no trace of your passing,
Labor hard to protect creation
So, like His love, ‘tis everlasting.

 Mother Earth must e’er endure
The heavy hand upon the hoe,
Scratching deep her tender soul
Enough to let the seedlings grow.

The beast will only eat his fill
Then wander off to some new pasture,
Not for him this human greed
That must be followed by disaster
